STOCK THEFT

Stock theft is the act of unlawful and intentional stealing of livestock. The animals are slaughtered for human consumption or sold at auctions for money gain. Producers have lost truckloads of animals while others are troubled with the persistent loss of one or two. Livestock theft has been described as the most significant rural crime. Cases of livestock posses threats to the nations economic stability because most communities are dependent on livestock farming.
